Paul Whelan

Councillor

Paul Whelan was born and raised in Wabush, his father worked in Wabush Mines for 35 years.  Immediately after school Paul joined the military and served 10 years traveling the world in various global deployments serving communication services back to Canada and other nations.  After leaving the military Paul joined the private sector and started doing process engineering work for banks and insurance companies.  While continuing to work Paul and his husband Johnny moved back to Newfoundland to be closer with family and create more community connections through active community work, activism, and municipal engagement.
